Let’s get together and help Houston!

Please bring any of these much needed supplies and they will be completely taken to the donation site of the Northeast Side Flood Relief group.

Through members of our community of students, we are making an effort to serve as a hub for donations to be taken to the Northeast Side Flood Relief Group. They have seen a tremendous need not being met by the big organizations and got together to help as best they could. It is helping areas including neighborhoods like Houston Gardens, Trinity Gardens, Rosewood and Lakewood (not to be confused with Lakewood Church) (Areas North of 610 and East of 59), serving approximately 150 families each day.

Many people in the community are elderly, or immigrants. Up until this group came to help, many have had little to no help, and are afraid and resistant to leave their homes even though many have been infested with dangerous mold. Also, because they are not connected to the internet, it has taken extra steps and work to connect them with the aid that is available.
These type of supplies will be in great need for quite awhile after the storm as there is such a backlog of homes that need attention. If you wish to make money donations, we will make sure to use 100% to purchase these needed items to be taken to them.
If you want to learn more about the group and follow the updates day to day, you can find it on Facebook at Northeast Side Flood Relief Group.
